#gm nostr I want to #asknostr about their main identities. I’m too chicken shit to join as myREALself at this point, although it would increase my credibility tenfold as a published author on cryptography, because I fear combining my real identity, which already exists online elsewhere, with my nostr activity because I have always wanted to keep my bitcoin involvement separate from the real me online to avoid any unwanted attention, or home invasions. I’m so impressed & empowered to see folks being their real selves, but then I wonder if there’s any real benefit. Do you keep multiple identities for different moods, do you just have one? is it your real name? Thoughts?

Ok I will work to adopt this attitude. I feel a very strong pull to lift the veil and combine my public, real world accomplishments with my private involvement in bitcoin here on nostr because I’ve finally found my tribe! I’ve written about cryptography for over 20 years, but have never publicly mentioned bitcoin since its inception or the insane-sounding changes I’m certain it will bring. I wonder how many here started out anon, but then setup an identity as themREALselves after meeting everyone

Being a published author would probably decrease your credibility with me and some other paranoid folks. But nostr is the place to establish a track record for your real self, if anywhere is
