I think that nostr’s simplicity that makes it ridiculously easy for anyone to build clients and relays is important.

easy to use from a user’s POV
i was discussing this with one of their frontend devs who happens to know a lot about the underlying protocol, and i think it’s sort of similar to nostr in a way. you login with username and password, but underneath there are keys which are signed.
