I'm planning to add more fermentables to the #homesteading crop production. We've got an apple tree. I'm learning beekeeping, and the hives will go in next spring. I think I agree with @Jack Spirko (30:50 of episode 3300 of The Survival Podcast) that "home-scale grain production is counterproductive" so barley for beer and rye for... rye are out.
Technically sorghum is a grain, but you can squeeze the stalk like sugarcane. Does that make sense? More apple trees for cider? What's the best use of #garden space for growing ethanol?
