Nostr can absolutely have those features. Clients can be created to leverage already existing parts of the protocol to allow for things like editing. And I think there are ways to even make that better. I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet but one possible improvement would be to use the same kind of algorithm diff does to publish edits to notes.

One beauty of nostr is in the chaos though. Perhaps you are someone who would like to see the original post rather than any edits. Or see the evolution of the edits. You can choose that too. The protocol can handle it.
