Welp, I think I almost fucked up.

There was a really nice pile of shrooms next to our driveway (the ones on the right) which I thought were chantrells... So I grabbed a bowl and collected them. Then I took a stroll into the woods and found some more mushrooms that I also thought were chantrells, but they were older and not as fresh... Went to cook up the ones on the right and something just gave me a wild hair to do some research... Well fml, I think those on the right are false chantrells.
As they were cooking in the pan wit some butter, I made a call and trashed them.
#1 in the videos I watched, real chantrells don't have gills, they have false gills.
#2 I've only found real chantrells in the woods, not in the open
#3 when I find chantrells they are normally close to each other but scattered, and the ones on the right were all bunched together.
When we started cooking them they turned a weird color. Also when we washed them they stained the towel orange, which I never noticed before.
This is a case if you don't know Wtf you're doing, maybe you shouldn't be doing it.
