Just posted on #olas for the first time, and I see that it’s here on damus as well but without the imagery…

will every post I make on olas show here on damus? What about other clients? Is there a way to make sure the image is also shown and not just the accompanying text?

Sorry, I’m half retarded and need some guidance in understanding.

Please forgive me.

Many client apps will show Olas images in feeds and/or dedicated profile galleries. I'm surprised your image wasn't shown in Damus though.

Damus does not support kind:20 picture events but other clients do, like nostr:npub1n0stur7q092gyverzc2wfc00e8egkrdnnqq3alhv7p072u89m5es5mk6h0

Olas has a “share” toggle that posts a regular note but I don’t think it’s worth using it because, like you said, the image doesn’t show up

Perhaps I had toggled that on? I will verify with the next post. Just realized Olas was not set up as a relay here on Damus? But had my Damus relay live on Olas? Not sure if that matters? I’m still very much learning and trying to keep things buttoned up.

Very much appreciate you taking the time to reply with some knowledge for me to research.

Thanks!

Using the Damus or Olas relays specifically doesn’t matter much as long as each app is also using one or more of the same relays. Olas creates a “picture” post and broadcasts it to all relays it knows about, it’s just that some clients won’t know how to show it. The “Share” toggle tries to get around this by also creating a repost that all clients will at least see, even if they still don’t show your picture.

You’re not forgiven.

Sorry I felt like being cheeky.
