Friend of mine does that with single sig and I was like dude are you for fucking real. On top of that, it's a ledger so he's extra vulnerable lol. I tried to warn him plenty of times about the dangers but oh well

Yeah I would never ever do that. You are right to warn him. But maybe as one of many multi sig storage solutions I would consider it.

Well consider it lost once the bankruns start happening and you're denied access to the bank. Unless you're lucky but we don't want to rely on luck!
