tbh the PC 2.0 community isn't really sold on Nostr. The identity thing and easy zapping is cool but the lack of splits and the extra overhead to even try to do them kind of stopped us from going further.

Also Nostr doesn't really fix anything for us. 😁

Not interested in podcasts, just your last sentence.

Is there anything nostr 𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 fix for you?

That begs the question, what is nostr, and what problems does it solve, and what problems does it create?

Those two questions should always be kept in mind for any new idea.

There’s absolutely no reason RSS files (you know, the other stuff) couldn’t be shared across relays. This solves one problem of podcasting, which is a lack of redundant distribution.

The other problem is a centralized directory. If nostr has a solution to decentralize searching for every podcast about “greek mythology” amongst 4 million podcasts, that’s another problem of podcasting that could be solved.

Also, I’ve looked into merging the two, and the lack of easy splits is a deal breaker. Some podcasts have twenty splits in them, and nostr would be a way to elegantly handle sending sats to all 20 wallets when a person zaps.

How does that work to begin with? How do podcasts do that right now?
