Almost never. But I did with the Proton mail Android app and the old Spotify Desktop app a couple years back because they did complete overhauls that were complete garbage. I actually stopped using Spotify and went back to pirated mp3s because of that. Proton's old app is open source on GitHub so it's not as much of an issue.
