Only Posts or Posts + Replies in the homepage?
Maybe some other filter for less interesting replies (like only show when both author and replied author are being followed?)
I want to avoid a toggle.

What about a user setting? Similar to what twitter had before they introduced tabs for For You | Following
Maybe not a toggle on the main page, but some options on settings could be very useful to test different options.
Post + replies (most engaged conversation first) but with a quoted "replied to" note for replies just like Iris.to does. It gives replies a context as seeing emojis replies constantly in a feed without any context is not a great UX.
