note that i was already preferring the clunky, heavy brickie rugged phones because of how many cheap phones i had screens completely become useless due to my impulsiveness. the use of more elastic glass is now basically standard. Apple was early on that one of course, nothing worse than a cracked screen, apart from not being able to migrate your data off it.

a fun fact: before 12 years ago capacitative touch screens rarely lasted more than 2 years. Now you can find 8 year old phones with touchscreens that still actually work.
