When I freelanced full time I’d see all sorts of requests for a few bucks. Many even ask you to work for free. It’s the fiverr culture and it’s ridiculously stupid. But there are enough desperate people who took on the tasks (even the free ones). The only way to compete with them is to go the opposite route and price yourself as the least affordable option. People who understand you get what you pay for will pay what something is actually worth. It’s easier to ignore the ignorant because they hardly ever change - and usually end up paying for their stupidity one way or another.

💯% you get what you pay for with this kind of stuff. People are generally very bad at adequately valuing creative work.
An acquaintance once had a show of paintings in a gallery in a small town, a collector came in, looked at them, asked the gallerist about the price, walked over and asked the artist disdainfully, “what’s wrong with your paintings that you price them at only $10K?”
