The head of the WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom, urged the Trump administration to consider restoring USAID funding until alternative solutions can be found.

According to the WHO, 50 countries have been affected by the USAID freeze.

Speaking publicly for the first time about the U.S. aid funding freeze, Tedros stated in a press conference:

“There are actions the U.S. government is taking... that we are concerned are having a serious impact on global health.”
