I've heard that. IIRC, my sister-in-law said the book was better, but quite a bit grittier. How do you think the movie compared to the book?
Normally, my rule is to read the book before watching the movie--but, when I saw this as a teen, I didn't know it had been a book first.
I agree with your sister-in-law. The book is definitely grittier and also has darker moments that are kind of skimmed over in the movie.
I saw the movie first and then read the book. I remember after reading that I’d wished it was the other way around but like you, I didn’t realise there was a book.
Definitely worth a read though. 😊
