I'll never forget the time when I asked the governor of the Czech National Bank why 2% inflation is considered good.

He responded by saying that there is no need to reinvent the wheel. All developed countries target 2% inflation and it's what all textbooks recommend.

I was stunned by his response. It was a blatant example of not thinking for himself and blindly following rules, even if they lead to his own downfall.

I lost all the hope and respect for people running my country.
