Oh but it’s referring to a general sentiment you’ve seen be shared by a group? That’s what you mean? You have anecdotal evidence that supports a shared idea you’ve seen exhibited by a group of people sharing a particular cultural or ethnic or religious background?
When enough people tell me the same thing, safe to assume others feel the same. And that irrelvant. Some have told me it so its a reason. By definition.
