A sandal boot - neither hardy enough for boot stuff or chilled enough for sandal stuff - what is it for?

People that wanna wear sandals but don’t like sandals and need to do stuff that boots do? I is confused.

I have a sense that rocks and sticks would easily get into the footwear but there’s no easy way to shake them out.
