Yeah it’s definitely something people can consider. Having tested various workflows it’s by far the cleanest and most noob friendly UX that is non-KYC.
I love the Bitkey folks and it’s great idea, but the challenge I found trying to onboard a noob to the inheritance function of Bitkey is that they need another physical Bitkey hardware wallet. Versus an inheritor in Casa doesn’t need a hww. Both have tradeoffs, and Bitkey is likely more resilient by also having a hww containing a copy of the inheritance key. But for a noob I personally prioritize UX because otherwise I find noobs just give up.
For whatever reasons I have found noobs are SUPER intimidated by having to hang onto a hww. Stinks but is just my experience with friends and family.
My daughter is exactly as you describe. Can't make room on her phone for the bitkey app. I've set up inheritance function with Unchained for that very reason but had to set up a trust to be able to do it. Individuals can't do that at Unchained. I stopped using Casa when Lopp started doing shitcoins. Had a couple of their nodes running in the past.
