Alien Isolation. The save game mechanic was brilliant on many levels. The absence of security pushed the player into considering every decision. Your sense of presence and agency was heightened. Every movement mattered.
This is what shapes the sovereign mind over time; we can only trust our own judgement. We can be correct, or we may be wrong, but there is no save game mechanic so we better get it right.
