Shooter was literally a man who believes he is a woman. I can’t find any better poster child for a mental health issue.
And as to prayer, yes, every day. For the repose of the souls of those poor children, and even for the repose of the soul of the sick man who murdered them.
Of course shooters will have mental issues. That's literal definition of mental issue when you do something so extreme. That's not an argument against gun violence.
Why should it be a 1 pronged approach? Why not tackle both the gun violence by decreasing availability of guns and tackle mental health crisis?
If you believe the underlying motivation isn't money, there's no point in arguing.
Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Why should law abiding gun owners be punished because of crazy people. Look at Switzerland all healthy men 18-34 are required to do some military service if I am not mistaken and they allowed and generally pushed to keep their assault rifles and pistols. They have a very low rate of gun violence. Taking guns away from people means only the criminals have guns.
First, because we have theright to defend ourselves - over and above the second amendment.
Banning guns, or types of guns, will lead to people being less able to defend themselves, their rights, and their property. At the same time, it will do little to prevent criminals from commiting crimes, often with guns……criminals often not following the laws and all.
