All depends on the person.
How familiar with bitcoin are they?
njump.me and a Trezor wallet
not an android user but ive heard great things about amethyst for a client. and i really like coinos for a wallet. very simple to use.
Can you zap others with Coinos?
yes. it has an LNURL and you can chose your @ name to match your user name. the only thing that isnt perfect yet is there isnt a way to add your nostr profile without giving your nsec. so it assigns you one. the client notifications for zaps go to that. but if you are using it on mobile or from an extension you will get them.
I'm running Amethyst + Speed. Joined this past summer. Haven't had any issues with the setup other than my Zaps aren't public on my profile. Granted, some people may view that as a privacy bonus.
Forgot to add Amber as my Nostr signer.
I dont know how to onboard a friend like this.
Minitbits ... install app ... Create wallet ... go to Minibits profile and copy LN address into Nostr Profile.
That's it...
Nostr Wallet Connect is easy as well.
NWC easy as well? Is there any guidance anywhere? I'm not sure what to put in the relay box? I presume I use my npub and the secret from minibits wallet...
Minibits Settings > NWC, create connection and copy it. In Amethyst long press zap icon then paste and save.
Requires push notifications to work on your device so that minibits can wake up on incoming encrypted nwc command.
Awesome! I was trying to paste into each of the three boxes rather than just tapping the paste icon...it is super easy!
Latest update, balance now takes into consideration pending ecash tokens.
💯💯💯
Indeed so easy, thanks !
Something I don't understand though : the minibit ln address exists as a Nostr profile on its own, so now I seem to have two Nostr profiles. Is this the expected/common functiunning ? nostr:npub1kvaln6tm0re4d99q9e4ma788wpvnw0jzkz595cljtfgwhldd75xsj9tkzv
also alby is sunsetting their custodial wallet service. the alby systems now arent easy for new users
Interesting that the general consensus is that new users will use custodial Ln
Actually US users are quite limited without the go to wos
I don’t have android but CoinOS is a good wallet choice. Supports NWC and zaps.
Minibits makes it easy, with zero cost to get started
I heard nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsqs6amnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0ds2g5zx8 is doing really great job for new users with their minimal custodial wallet (max 1 million sat).
It's basically a client and wallet all in one.
