No need to be sorry, if you are building something where people can consume and that causes more pollution in whichever way it would fit to structure it into your work it would matter. The simplest answer for where the connection lies is that you live on this planet. It doesnt matter if its a digital app. You create something, you take care of the planet. A human is a living organism that needs fesh air, clean water etc. How would there be any illogically be in that. Whatever the area of your workfield that has to take priority if it doesnt whats the sense of creating something new.
