Purchased a 2nd hand Lenovo ThinkCentre m910q Tiny (4c/3.1ghz, 8gb ram, 256gb NVMe) for a total of $160, dedicated to Umbrel Nostr private backup Relay. Deployed on Debian without any issue, no need to install or sync β‚Ώitcoin Core ⚑

External traffic routed over VPN, and use split-tunneling / IP table exclusions in local network firewall and clients to communicate with the local Nostr backup relay, to avoid doxing IP's

Used Nostros (Android) app to push data to the personal relay, and it seem to have gotten most. Even got back 100+ missing follows in Amethyst πŸ’œ

Nice. Also check out 2nd hand Dell Optiplex. They are similary specced and priced

So much I need to learn where do you find/figure this all out?

Just like to build and secure things properly. Spend a lot of time reading and building out of passion. By following guides and just trying out stuff yourself, you will quickly start to understand more for yourself πŸ’‘

Fuck yeah!

Updated this nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct Nostr-RS Relay node to v1.1 β€” The new feature that let you upload and sync your NIP-05 or npub with public (internet connected) relays even when client not in local network, is really great ⚑πŸ”₯

Would be great to see a backup download button in future versions πŸ™
