Here in Brazil, my friend, I know many like that. Fear, lack of knowledge and basic education, made them repeat this looping for years. And it is difficult to remove rational habits from what can be understood with minimal energy!
That’s really sad! there is alternative and people don’t know or refuse to accept the reality
