Amethyst and Primal don't really help matters of user discovery by having their equivalent of Safe Mode on by default. What's worse is that most users don't even realise it's on. Clients should point you towards this at the very start. Especially when it hides a whole spectrum of users and the lowest end it's basically blocking people who have a slight potty mouth.

I thought amethyst turned it off by default now and that's why Tony Giorgio discontinued his fork or am I mistaken? Do we know what Garnet has set by default?
I think the fork happened cos you couldn't change it at all. But I'm pretty sure it is on by default (and doesn't let you know it's on lol). Just cos I switched to playstore version and had to turn it off.
No idea about garnet tbh
