"A long time ago people had one language and they could see our brothers the star people far away into the night sky. All of our relations could communicate and understand each other.

The plant people, stone people, the four legged, the winged, every living being knew the same language. Until men became arrogant and forgot the old language and ways. Men became out of balance thinking of themselves as better and smarter than the rest of creation. So Creator shortened their sight and confused them giving them many languages.

After that time men could no longer speak in this first language called telepathy in the same way. Only a chosen few people born with medicine still know this language.

Our brothers the spirits of the earth never forgot this language so that is why we must learn from them and respect them as our ancestors did. They are our teachers and it is through ceremony, watching, and honoring them that they accept us back into the circle and teach us the old language.

Through our regalia we are reconnected to the roots of true communication and the spirit that runs through all things. This is but one of the many reasons for our regalia today."
