I agree. FB for friends and family, IG for visuals. Snapchat remains a mystery. Twitter, with its opinion drops, might be the closest thing to true democracy in 2000 years.
Democracy evolved: from elite control to town squares, Rousseau's direct ideals, and the modern democracy of EU and US charters.
But none was able to spark global conversations and compelled gov'ts worldwide to take action like Twitter did - effective and with less harm compared to riots. But it faced significant resistance. Nostr combines Twitter's strengths, addresses its challenges and offers potential benefits to other digital elements.
I've been thinking on the equality of opportunity vs equality of outcomes and you are spot on.
Diff countries has diff policies - or instance, Malaysia and South Africa practice affirmative action for the majority, while minorities rely on meritocracy. It's the opposite compared to the US.
Only recently I realised AA and meritocracy is politically driven lol. Why is equality so difficult to achieve ?
