Why is everyone moving to Tidal?

I came back to check on progress, and it was here. Objectively, it’s a terrible UX. I would have bounced at first glance, but because it’s linked to/recommended by Tidal, I gave it shot—and paid for the annual subscription.
My 2 sats: if the backend is solid, I’d acquire and integrate. Otherwise, it’s a liability to recommend it.
I’ll give it one more shot, and failing that, I’ll try soundiiz, which I’ve had success with in the past.
Yeah agree here, when I saw that website I didn't go through with it.
Is this service free? Or how does it compare to Soundiiz? That's what I've used
