here goes, an imperfect first attempt to put words to what is probably an undefinable quality of being, summarized glibly as the concept gratitude:

embracing the present as a gift from all the acts and circumstances of self + others that came before, and offering that gift again and again to both self and others moving forward

Gratitude is simply this:
