That is not what I said
> 2. old ≠ better, especially for technologies. also, do you expect new technology *from the start* to be better then old ones in user experience?
> I was referring to the user experience. Nostr is years away from providing the same experience as Mastodon for users and administrators. Also, the Spam problem here is worse than any existing decentralized tech faced. Nostr is also more complicated for normies.
3> . you haven’t seen free speech talk or daily talk here?
NOSTR mostly prefer safe speech just like Twitter and run away from real free speech talk like what you find on Gab. They are bringing their Twitter habits here and this will be Twitter 2.0.
If have ever tried to bring normal people over to decentralized tech, they will mostly not like it and go back to what they love: safe speech and centralized control.

True until control: censorship goes too far ?

1. yeah, you said those interest die quickly and i replied that there are people who post their hobbies here daily and i know it bc i follow them.
2. nostr have a spam problem due to its registration method (even email is not needed). correct me if i’m wrong but there are more than 23mil pubkeys generated – no wonder there would be spam. tbh, i’m glad nostr faces it now – it shows that the way of resolving it lies on the relays. reading paid relays and free relays with filtering helps.
3. i’ve seen here people from different backgrounds, having different beliefs. people who have political views opposed to mine, people who use degrading and explicit language – all of it is free speech talk. yes, some people are more cautious of what they say, as they are used to it, it would change over time.
also, calling people “normies” for not being an early adopter is derogatory and assuming they would prefer censorship and authoritarian/controlled networks is even more misanthropic 🥶
