Seattle introduces $5 tax on delivery app purchases.

In a series of events that no-one could have predicted orders have fallen off a cliff and delivery drivers are now making half what they did a year ago before the ordinance.

Leftists never learn - if they did learn they’d understand the impact their policies would have before they introduce them but they refuse to learn and think because it sounds good and makes them feel good that it must be good.

Could Nostr do this? We already have a marketplace thats functional and there is a location sharing app that works on Nostr.

Nostr certainly could.

Should we? The major delivery platforms have lost money hand over fist since their inception.

A Nostr app wouldn't need the lobbying, the DEI or the marketing budget. But combating organised fraud of customers would be a nightmare, I think.

Thats sort of what I was thinking. I would rather get in a strangers car that is kinda sorta the responsibility of a company. It would be so easy to kidnap people and extort them without a trust system thats reliable. Reliable real time updates are needed too.
