Yes, but at the same time, people are hiring their apps to do a job, and it's probably not out of pure entertainment value. You have to wonder why someone would want to browse an app over doing this other thing IRL.

Yeah. IMO in most mainstream social media, a lot of that comes from engineered addiction.
Maybe some percentage of it comes from genuine interest or to solve a practical problem, but a lot of it is just a mindless dopamine doomscrolling.
Nostr feels different to me, I might come here less frequently but feels a lot more intentional.
