I'm not convinced things can eternally grow at an exponential rate. If that correct, at some point the music will stop and people will be scrambling for chairs.

I agree with you, we know it's a "grow" counted in nominal terms.
I am coming to the conclusion Jeff Booth is completely right, teal growth is deflationary, and value of everything is determinated by it's energy cost of production.
