if you bypass their router you can't use the app to troubleshoot.

but I've only had brief "did you turn it off and back on again" outages

so it hasn't been a problem.

Ok I wasn’t thinking you could bypass there router. I was thinking you had to use theres. Do you use your own router then?

I’m not sure I can use starlink. I think I have too much tree coverage. I was thinking one area at my place would work but I had to scan such a big area that it ran into 2 trees. I did it from the ground though so I’m gonna climb up in the peak of my house and see if I mount it there if the scan will be different.

you use their router in that its plugged into the dish

but its just a dumb box and you have your own router spliced in.

mines a little sbpc running pfsense.

it really depends on what satellite your location wants i think. my dish is always trained up to the same patch of sky and the rest of it doesn't seem to matter.
