This is the painting of a friend of mine whom I haven't talked to for a long time, and I honestly don't know what is going on with his life. The man with the wound is a former communist dictator, while the man touching his wound is the painter's father. It is a tribute to the work of Caravaggio called "Touching Jesus." He chose the dictator to illustrate that tyrants have taken the place of God, and above all, this dictator, whose name I don't want to mention, created the first atheist state in the world. #Nostr #art

Yeah! That’s exactly what popped into my head! I like this painting and Saint Thomas in general! I really like the apocryphal gospel of Saint Thomas and I was just talking about this part of it earlier w someone https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_empty_jar?wprov=sfti1#

The interpretation is correct: the pleasure of possession is a lie; the greatest pleasure is mental and spiritual.

So the painters father is realizing the β€œtruth” of a tyrant? Maybe I’m reading more into it. A lot to unpack if it’s beyond that.

the father which is living and believes god in which it is given for him to believe, encompasses all of us. Which is the face of god which you are touching his wounds?

Yea, don’t knows. Like you said, you don’t know much about what’s going on with him.

I think you just want to find out if I was in a romantic relationship with the painter or not
