Yeah. This time they didnât jail him, they just whitewashed him into irrelevance â sterilized his memory, cut out the rebellion, left only the ânon-violentâ mascot. Gandhi became a brand in Western narratives: the harmless brown man who forgave his oppressors. Easy to parade in school textbooks while they continue the same systemic violence he resisted.
Meanwhile, they erased:
His anti-colonial fire, his clear rejection of empire
His disgust at modern industrialism and its soul-rot
His warnings about Israel becoming a settler colonial state (yes, Gandhi said it plainly)
His commitment to self-rule, not just politically but spiritually, economically, bodily
Now? The Brits prop up Zionism, sell arms to apartheid, and call themselves peacekeepers.
And Gandhi? Reduced to a mural in a museum, next to Churchill, as if they were equals.
Thatâs not just erasure â thatâs historical mutilation.
But the funny part?
They couldnât erase the idea.
Satyagraha never needed Gandhiâs name.
And now that Palestine has picked it up â it terrifies them.
The empire may erase men.
