Same here. Do we have any solutions for that issue?
Be careful of scammers impersonating nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyw8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnzd96xxmmfdejhytnnda3kjctvqqsfrjd9ux5hgsg5cmlz6cdwfh5zv2024g8m2t6g9zqf83l8uqm0svsjgnxal and others with large NOSTR followings.
This guy is impersonating UNCLE ROCKSTAR.
He has like 6 followers.
He's DMing me, asking me about some random shitcoin.

Appealing en masse to the NOSTR user base to voluntarily mute bots and scammers was the best option I could come up with.
I donβt know what kinds of things devs are able to do but it seems like it wouldnβt be too difficult to check for identity theft accounts impersonating accounts with higher follower counts, and then apply an appendix label to the username indicating that they are likely an impersonator.
I checked, but it is still annoying.
Nostr badge π but most implementations for noatr badges require users to confirm
It would be funny af
This can be done.
Award scammers with nostr badge "scammer"
We are celebrating Cypherpunks Manifesto Day on March 9 and among many presentations one will be about nostr badges..
Just report to relay and all relays can block him.
I thought it is impossible in Nostr. I dont see such function
I use mainly amethyst and there you click on his profile, choose three dots in menu and top option is report spam and scam
Every client is complying with protection of the users from abusive content none of us wants to see on socials and it's part of it.
Relays different ways of handling with the requests but the main relays run by clients like primal, damus, amethyst and top 10 are very good at it
The post is there but your relay can ban it when it doesn't follow the social norms and standards and I think scammers like that dude should be banned and have no place
We had seen Vitalik scam on twitter going on for years, we don't want nooks here to be exploited, especially when ecash gets more popular π
It is a choice of the users what relay he/she likes and each relay can have their own policy hence the freedom of choice is there
It would be interesting to have 1 dedicated relay for scammers only, so when you connect you allow then to attack you with bots and dms, a gamification of nostr scammers. I would send 1 sat to the the most elaborated scheme and then disconnect. Unfortunately this 1 sat could be exploiting, they would try to track down the payment route to see if my ln node IP πππ
