Serious question: I have friends who think Bitcoin will enable authoritarian regimes (specifically Iran) to do more bad, while also believing the current monopoly on fiat violence is good. I leaned on some nostr:npub1trr5r2nrpsk6xkjk5a7p6pfcryyt6yzsflwjmz6r7uj7lfkjxxtq78hdpu writing on the matter. Another question was what if they ‘bad regimes’ controlled Bitcoin? They actually believe we would be better off under the current system, and another quite intelligent person believes we will never rid cash. I was astonished. Would love any advice to help me improve my points that Bitcoin is a better freedom layer of money.

If you understand that you can hold your money on your wallet, your devices (no third party)… i dont think regimes would really love that from a banking perspective
Read my profile post for today, start early this morning.
I pointed out that it is binary at this point: CBDCs or BTC. They believe that type of governance is good 🤷♂️
I pointed out money protocol layer doesn’t care. I could go on and on…
#asknostr to boot.
Bitcoin takes power from the state and puts it in the hands of the individual. This is bad for dictators who need control
100% agree. They don’t seem to prefer this point. It’s odd.
