Guys which #coinjoin method are you using?

I've tried #samourai wallet, and it's great, but I heard #wasabi doesn't have the doxxic change thingy.

Any 2 cents out there waiting to be heard?

I use samouri and then exchange doxxic change for monero, then back to btc to break the on chain link. Wasabi uses chainanalysis to blacklist addresses, which makes it a non starter IMHO.

Wow does it really?? That's ridiculous.

Yeah it does. Stay away from Wasabi. Samouri whirlpool is the way

In addition to eliminating doxxic change, Wasabi's coinjoins also hide common input ownership. Huge step forward in Bitcoin privacy.

What do you say to the other comments on this thread saying to stay away from wasabi because of chainalysis collab?

If a coordinator refuses to include your UTXO because of a chain analysis company's opinion, you can use a different coordinator or run your own since everything is open source. Wasabi is designed so there is never a risk to the user's data even if the coordinator is malicious.

The other wasabi issue I've heard of is that supposedly, there have been mixed coins traced by law enforcement, leading to arrests, with results replicated by (Samouri funded) OXT. Biased or not, I haven't heard of any claims of Samouri's implementation bring deanonymized. Personally, I like the free remix feature of Samouri paired with my own dojo, and some of my UXTO's have 40+ remixes on them yielding an absurdly huge anonyminity set.

Sounds solid, ngl.

Thanks for adding so much to the conversation.

I need to understand how wasabi and samourai function on a more fundamental level than I do now. I think I understand the concept of coinjoin sufficiently, but these conversations sometimes make me think there are some fundamentals I'm missing since I can't make a decision on my own.

Is there any reading material you can recommend?

I think setting up a dojo would be helpful as well to understand the mechanics.

Sybil attackers enjoy the free remix feature as well since their mining fees are paid by their victims ☠️

Two things..

1. What is the Doxxic Change theory?

2. Do you need to coin join if you buy p2p? I thought p2p preserves anonymity. Or If you buy directly from a miner? (Home or industrial)

I view it just like a piece of internet traffic going through a VPN vs not.

With coinjoin, u lead chain analytics to a dead end somewhere between you and wherever you got the sats from.

Then from there your opsec determines the level of anonymity your coins have.
