All that's left of my dogs' favorites are shreds of cloth and they still keep them stuffed in the couch cushions.

I totally get that.
It's an interesting thing to watch. One of them is 5 and his fave toy has been his fave since he was 1 yo. He just came upstairs, went to the guest bedroom, behind the closet door, grabbed his toy and went right back downstairs with toy in mouth. Not even looking at me in the adjacent room watching him.
