It will never be as fast as a centralised services but this is a price we are willing to pay.

For big files, limited storage relays could store only a starting chunk of the files while querying for the remaining chunks in a decentralised network of users and relays. Some satoshis could be payed for big files retrieval and the amount split between chunk owners. Old files would probably disappear once they are not economically viable anymore.
