i do not believe that ledger sent you a leaked device. even if they did ,which is extremely unlikely, you made the mistake of not resetting and verifying on the app. you have to add an application on ledger for every coin. it could have been tampered with on the way to you. there are many videos showing how to verify if the packaging was tempered with.

you are right, i know nothing about eterium other than that it is a centralized scam.

but i know a lot about ledger, trezor and many other self made hardware wallets, building them, programming them and using them

The packaging was not tampered with. I did all necessary checks and verified everuthing. It all checked out. I did all the verification and everything. Nothing of mine was stolen, except my data ofcourse. I setup a eth wallet on the ledger. I typed the seed phrase they gave me for the bitcoin wallet in to MetaMask thinking thats how to recover my ETH wallet. That is not how to recover a ledger ETH wallet. So instead it gave me a completely different wallet. To my surprise it was a previously used wallet. Let me repeat myself to get this through to you. No bitcoin or shitcoin of mine was stolen in the 1 year i held them on there.

As someone who is "familiar" with these hardware wallets you must be aware that ledger is closed source and when it comes to random number generation witg computers they aren't actually random at all and can be regenerated if you know certain details about the machine
