Nuclear power can be used as an extremely efficient clean energy source. Imagine all the clean energy you would be able to gather if you could detonate a nuclear bomb in a dense and enclosed area. Of course, this is impossible. But, theoretically speaking, you would be able to gather hundreds of kilotons or even megatons of clean energy.

If this were possible, we could probably power every major city in the U.S. for years, maybe even decades, without issue.

But regular thermal fission is enough to maintain the world's standard of living if the better designs are built soon enough.
