I hope the decentralized social media cat is out of the bag and that there's no going back to 2010 Facebook-style centralized social media.
I could be wrong of course, network effects are very strong and Meta can pay an army of devs to create a sleek UX and various enticements for users.
But many people are slowly waking up to the dangers of centralized silos.
When people realize the way they are being farmed for their data in exchange for nothing,
They will be no going back to the centralized Facebook crap
very very far away to reach a point where people think as so...
I’ll use myself for example
When I realized all these ads are what makes a social media profitable and they still mine my data and sell it too eg facebook
I’m not sure I’m accurate but twitter only uses ads to make money from people using it and Facebook uses ads mining of your data and cookies stuff
in the end it is a business, needs profit either way otherwise it will die.
Nostr doesnt feel like a business. People may use it for business which I think is a thing to appreciate but nostr itself wont be one imo
