lol i always think my dog is like a cat. it's funny. this thought actually led me down a rabbit hole the other day. dogs are so empathetic with human emotion basically because they've evolved over thousands of years of human captivity to possess those characteristics to survive. It's ultimately Darwinism. And the character of cats is also a reflection of their traditional role within households centuries ago – to drive out vermin.
