The United States has launched airstrikes against ISIS targets in northwest Nigeria, President Trump said.
According to Fox News, the U.S. has carried out airstrikes this year in several regions, including Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, Yemen, the Caribbean, and the eastern Pacific.
Pete Hegseth said the president made clear last month that the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria and elsewhere must stop. He added that the Department of War is always prepared, saying ISIS “found out tonight—on Christmas,” and indicated more action could follow.
Hegseth also expressed gratitude for the Nigerian government’s support and cooperation, closing with a “Merry Christmas.”
