aws sneaky bills for more than you expect, very hard to manay, imo

unused images, snapshots, ip's, vpcs accumulate over time

if you provision everything with terraform, it's a little better

I just moved in the other direction for that very reason. You can manage AWS expenses, but you need to be more vigilant than I was.
