That I’m familiar with. I just can’t say I’ve ever had a boss or company “love bomb” me. Maybe the manipulation just seems more stark in a professional setting to me.

True, “love bomb” was in brackets so I filled the idea with something close but different

It's an expression in cult busters jargon that refers to a NLP/hypnotic induction that focuses on making you feel "special" and leaves you feeling infatuated. It took hours to wear off.

Yes, extremely unprofessional, number one, and number two, that was just the tip of the iceberg of the manipulations he did to his employees. Every standup, ie, every day, he spent 5 minutes ridiculing a coworker who had a really cheesy italian accent. It made me sick listening to it.

Everything he said in that interview was lies. He followed through with none of it, and because I didn't show up in person to a 3 monthly confab, presumably for him to brainwash me, I inevitably was fired.

He lied to me, made promises he never had any intention to fulfil. Consequently I didn't get to do the work that I was excited to do, and I had no motivation for the shit I ended up doing, not only that, but all his ghouls piled in on me to confuse and complicate the process to make me look bad.
