I have not seen this really. Or perhaps I’m inclined to ignore some significant portion of it, being heavily exposed to the intersections of internet culture, bitcoining, and Nostr. Honestly, though I’ve been surprised how LITTLE of this I see on Nostr and how much of it I DO see on Twitter. Fundamentally though, other people’s views have no impact on mine and with this platform being natively monetized and trends like #onlyzaps I think the returns on trolling and nasty behavior are low.

I don’t give likes, and I only zap or repost things that I 1) agree with (and am willing to be SEEN agreeing with), 2) make me laugh, 3) make me think 4) confer beauty or joy.

Maybe selectively pare down or rework the folks your follow to see if that helps.

to be fair, it’s always worse for women on social networks. we notice bad behavior, particularly the misogynistic kind, more than men would.

hopefully zapping will indeed let positive culture spread…but some people have in their deranged hearts that guns and nastiness towards women and minorities is positive.
