The same prompt with --style raw (which forces MJ to do less interpretation of the prompt, so less “arty”; often better for photos) produces these, which look much more like the actual Giant, but still as an actual being, not an outline

So it seems like MJ knows full well what the Giant looks like, but is unable to interpret it as a chalk outline (which, tbf, why would it?) and instead converts it into an actual walking talking giant
